PBBM LAUDS TAGUIG’S URBAN FARMING INITIATIVES

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. lauded on Wednesday the “urban farming initiative” of Taguig City, urging other local government units to follow the initiative.

“Hanga po ako sa ginagawa ninyo dito sa Taguig upang sa mga Urban Farming initiatives na inyong ginagawa dito sa inyong lungsod,” President Marcos said in his speech during a rice distribution event in Taguig City.

President Marcos said urban farming is proof that Filipinos can cultivate farm produce even in the city as he emphasized that it is something that is being supported by the government.

The President visited Taguig City to lead the distribution of smuggled rice to 4Ps beneficiaries and underline the efforts of the government to provide sufficient food supply to every Filipino family.

In this effort, the chief executive highlighted some of Taguig’s urban farming programs located in various parts of the city.

The President also commended the Taguig City Agricultural Office for their continuous commitment to the broadening of urban gardening in communities.

President Marcos vowed to intensify these initiatives alongside local efforts to maintain a sufficient supply of clean water, flood control and preparedness in times of calamity.

The President said these efforts show that the Filipino people are capable of finding ways to overcome current challenges.

“Patuloy tayong magtulungan para sa kinabukasan na walang gutom at puno ng kaginhawaan at pag-asa,” the President said. | PND
