DFA: PBBM TO MEET WITH FILIPINO COMMUNITY AT THE SIDELINES OF APEC LEADERS’ SUMMIT IN US

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is set to personally visit the Filipino community at the sidelines of his attendance at the the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ meeting next week in the United States. 

In a press briefing on Tuesday, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Charles Jose told the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC) that President Marcos will meet the Filipino communities in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Honolulu. 

“The President will be focusing his visit in San Francisco, in Los Angeles and in Honolulu in meeting the Filipino community – so, I think that will be the main focus of his visit to these three American cities,” Jose told reporters.

Visiting the Filipino community has already been a practice of President Marcos whenever he travels abroad for official business, such as state visits, meetings with foreign business leaders, bilateral meetings with international leaders, among others.

President Marcos will attend the 30th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting from November 15 to 17 in San Francisco, California ,USA, which is the culmination of the year-long chairmanship and hosting of the US this year. 
The Philippines is a founding member of APEC when it was established in 1989, which serves as the country’s primary forum for its engagement with other economies in the Asia Pacific Region. | PND
